Account Director, Carbon Markets (UK)

Location:  London

Browning is seeking an outstanding Account Director to join our carbon markets team. You will be working on major international projects to progress carbon credits as an approach to accelerate global climate action, across compliance markets, voluntary carbon markets, and Article 6.2 and 6.4 markets.

We want you to apply if you have at least 5 years communications experience, which includes extensive experience in carbon credits or directly related fields; managing international, multi-stakeholder projects; developing creative, impact-oriented campaigns; and representing high profile organisations, such as governments, enterprises, or major NGOs.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of a range of international carbon markets projects, including:
    • Acting as the primary liaison for clients.
    • Ensuring a high standard of work across project teams.
    • Supporting development of long-term communication strategies and plans.
    • Advising clients on strategic and tactical communications issues.
    • Effectively managing teams to deliver against tight deadlines.
    • Engaging directly with media to secure high impact coverage.
  • Actively engage with developments in the carbon markets and utilise insights to support clients and team development.
  • Work closely with Directors to support new business activity and proposal writing.
  • Line manage junior consultants and support wider team learning and development.
 
 

About you 

  • 5+ years’ experience in an agency.
  • Passionate about the environment.
  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of the voluntary carbon market.
  • An entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Dedicated to producing high quality work and going the extra mile. 
  • Excited to be part of a dynamic team, working with clients from a range of sectors.
  • Experience in topics such as climate change, the energy transition, biodiversity, and sustainable development.
  • Enjoy working with people with a diverse range of backgrounds and opinions.
